Salesforce launched Hunter, an outbound AI sales agent that researches prospects and sends outreach across days and weeks, as part of a portfolio of seven named Agentforce agents announced on 11 September 2026. Hunter is currently in pilot, with general availability set for November 2026.

The seven agents are: Casey (customer support), Paige (IT and HR service), Carter (in-chat commerce and checkout), Hunter (outbound sales outreach), Marshall (supply chain and back-office operations), Piper (inbound B2B pipeline generation, available via qualified.com), and Fin (customer experience, powered by Operator and Fin Apex models). Casey, Paige, Carter, Marshall, Piper, and Fin are all generally available now; Hunter remains in pilot.

What Hunter Does Differently

Hunter is the first Agentforce agent to run on Salesforce’s new long-horizon runtime, a capability that lets it pursue a sales goal across multiple days or weeks rather than within a single session. Three properties define the runtime: Memory, which retains prospect context across sessions; Durable execution, which lets Hunter resume outreach after the seller closes their laptop; and Dynamic steering, which allows Hunter to adjust its approach based on feedback without restarting the workflow.

Perk, a current pilot customer, reports that 60% of its sales pipeline is now built by Hunter. That figure is a direct claim from Salesforce’s press release and has not been independently verified.

Scale: 7 Billion Agentic Work Units

Salesforce says Agentforce and Slack together have delivered 7 billion Agentic Work Units (AWUs) since the platform launched, with 3.2 billion AWUs completed in Q2 2026 alone. An AWU is Salesforce’s unit for measuring automated AI task completions across the platform.

Additional customer results cited by Salesforce include: Engine, where 50% of chat inquiries are fully resolved by a help agent named Eva; Autism Queensland, where Paige handles 70% of administrative requests; Hibbett AI, where an agent handles 90% of core shopper journeys and went live in six weeks; Asana, where Piper drove 4x conversation volume with a 45-day average deployment; and Anthropic, where Fin resolves 79% of conversations autonomously.

What This Means for Sales Teams

Salesforce is positioning the agent portfolio as a pre-built AI workforce — buyers deploy named agents by role rather than building from scratch. For existing Salesforce customers, Hunter and the other agents are available as part of the Agentforce platform with customisation on top. For businesses on competing CRMs, access to Hunter requires moving to Salesforce.

The portfolio positions Agentforce as a direct challenge to standalone sales-automation tools such as Outreach and Salesloft, and to the broader category of best AI agents for business tasks. Multi-Agent Orchestration — which routes work across agents for jobs that cross roles or systems — is also generally available as of this announcement.

Two additional features are on the roadmap: AI Skills in Agentforce Coworker (pilot now, GA October 2026) and Agent Optimizer (GA October 2026), a tool for monitoring and improving agent performance.

Dreamforce Context

Salesforce’s Dreamforce 2026 conference runs September 15–17 in San Francisco. The September 11 agent portfolio announcement is a pre-show release; the separate Claudeforce partnership between Salesforce and Anthropic, which embeds Claude as a default reasoning model, was announced at or around Dreamforce and is covered separately.

For Context

Salesforce has been building out Agentforce piece by piece since late 2025. Earlier integrations brought AI-assisted CRM data directly into Slack — see our earlier coverage of Salesforce’s Slack CRM integration for background on how the platform connects messaging and sales data.
