HubSpot became the first CRM to natively integrate with ChatGPT Ads on Sept. 16, 2026, enabling businesses to build, launch, and measure ChatGPT ad campaigns inside their CRM dashboard and attribute closed deals directly to ChatGPT ad spend — a capability no other CRM platform currently offers.

What HubSpot’s ChatGPT Ads Integration Does

The integration connects HubSpot’s CRM data to ChatGPT Ads, so a business can run a campaign in ChatGPT, track which leads it generated, and see which of those leads closed as deals — all inside HubSpot. This is attribution parity: the same system that holds your contact records now holds your ChatGPT ad performance data.

The updated HubSpot connector for ChatGPT supports five workflows: running email campaigns, creating landing pages for ads, analyzing closed-won deals, optimizing for AI search (AEO), and understanding lead progression. HubSpot’s connector is already the most popular CRM connector for ChatGPT, with 250% growth in weekly active users since launch, according to HubSpot’s announcement.

HubSpot also integrated Microsoft Advertising into the platform in the same release, giving businesses a third ad channel — alongside Google Ads and now ChatGPT Ads — managed from a single CRM dashboard.

The AI Growth Bundle: What the September 30 Offer Includes

HubSpot launched an AI Growth Bundle tied to the announcement with three components, each time-limited. New accounts opened by September 30, 2026 receive HubSpot Starter plus credits at up to 65% off for one year; ChatGPT Business seats on a buy-one-get-one-free basis for one year; and a $750 match on ChatGPT Ads spend. The bundle requires a separate sign-up and is not automatically applied to existing HubSpot accounts.

Duncan Lennox, Chief Product and Technology Officer at HubSpot, stated: “AI shouldn’t just benefit the biggest companies. With our HubSpot connector for ChatGPT, new ChatGPT ads integration, and new AI Growth Bundle offer, we’re giving every scaling business a real shot at showing up where buyers are, understanding what’s working, and acting on it quickly.”

What HubSpot’s Growth Context Figures Mean

HubSpot cited its “Growth Context” framework in the announcement, reporting that businesses using HubSpot see 3.6x more marketing-qualified leads, 3.2x more deals won, and 2x more tickets closed. These figures are HubSpot’s own aggregate data, not independently audited results. Brian Landsman, VP of Global Partnerships at OpenAI, added: “Connecting ChatGPT with the customer knowledge in HubSpot helps teams do more with what they already know, from creating a campaign to preparing for a customer conversation.”

How This Changes the CRM Buying Decision

ChatGPT Ads is a channel where buyers are actively researching and making purchasing decisions. The CRM that first lets a business run ads in that environment and attribute the results to closed revenue builds a switching cost: moving your CRM means losing that attribution history.

The announcement lands during the same week as Salesforce’s Dreamforce (September 15–17, 2026), where Salesforce announced Claudeforce and Koa, both enterprise-focused AI agents. The bifurcation is direct: Salesforce targets enterprise governance and custom reasoning models; HubSpot targets SMB teams who can use a ChatGPT Ads integration without IT involvement.

For businesses currently evaluating platforms and choosing a CRM, the ChatGPT Ads integration is now a concrete differentiator — it is not available in Salesforce, Zoho, or Pipedrive as of this announcement.

Our Take

HubSpot moved from being potentially disrupted by OpenAI’s Presence feature to becoming OpenAI’s preferred CRM partner within a single conference week. The ChatGPT Ads integration is a moat, not a marketing announcement: if your pipeline starts in ChatGPT and closes in HubSpot, switching your CRM means losing that attribution chain. SMBs evaluating Salesforce, Zoho, or Pipedrive should factor this in — particularly before the September 30 bundle deadline.

For Context: Earlier this year, HubSpot’s stock dropped 12.7% after OpenAI launched its Presence feature, raising concerns that OpenAI would compete directly with HubSpot for customer engagement tools. The ChatGPT Ads integration and AI Growth Bundle represent HubSpot’s answer to that narrative — co-selling with OpenAI rather than competing against it.
